Happy New Year from Patagonia River Ranch and Estancia La Limay!
We’ve had an excellent season so far, with many catches by our guests recorded as “Blue Label” Trout (25″+ at PRR) and “Gold Label” Trout (26″+ at ELL). During a single week our guests landed 5 “Blue Label” fish at PRR – a ranch record! Additionally, a countless number of 22″- 24″ fish have been caught, indicating a healthy and thriving fish population. Ken Gangwer, the owner, believes this season has produced the best fishing since our beginning 20 years ago!
Patagonia River Ranch
While guests have been enjoying the incredible fishing this season, they’ve also taken time off from the river to experience all that we offer including: hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, cooking classes, sightseeing and photography tours. Our gaucho, Damian, and guest host, Antonela, have expanded our equestrian program to include new rides both on and off the ranch property. A recent guest wrote us with her comments:
“…I was truly taken by Damian’s expertise and love of the horses and would have ridden with him and Antonela more had I known what an outstanding experience this ‘hidden gem’ was.”
Estancia La Limay
Our sister fishing operation, now in its second season, sits on the banks of the Rio Limay Medio. This 16,000-acre ranch has private river access and is the only tailwater in Northern Patagonia, featuring cool, stable releases which create a rich habitat for both resident and migratory Rainbow and German Brown trout. Our guest lodge is recently remodeled with high quality furnishings and a rustic, Patagonian ambiance. This is an exclusive experience with an 8 guest capacity (4 boats/day).
Looking ahead to the 2018-2019 season
While we are still in the middle of our current fishing season, now is the time to start planning next year’s trip to PRR and/or ELL and reserve desired dates. We will be sending out another email with next season’s dates and prices in the coming weeks, but please call our U.S. office anytime (307.739.8093) or email us if you would like to discuss a specific week for the 2018-2019 season.
Wishing you all the best in 2018!
